I started in senior housing at Atria Senior Living, where I was the developer of Atria Newport Beach.
In early 2021 I spun out of Atria and started Sophos Equities, a senior housing investment and advisory platform targeting underperforming assets. Sophos is Greek for wise or skilled. I chose it because the industry “has destroyed, ad nauseum, most other words for older/wiser people.” I advised Mesa West Capital, the lender, on the refinance of Thrive at Montvale.
Reckon is a senior housing risk index, a personal project in pursuit of senior housing transparency. I’m now Head of Strategic Partnerships at Sage. Thesis interest: owning aging in the US.
“Planes and Zoom make geography small.”
I live in California with my wife and four kids. I smoke good cigars.
